Medical Lithograph 2
Anatomical Lithograph – Anatomie de l’homme (1828)
This original lithograph, plate CCLIV (248), comes from "Anatomie de l’homme", a monumental anatomical atlas created by the French anatomist and surgeonby Jules Cloquet (1790 - 1883), published between 1828 and 1831. Depicting a detailed view of blood vessels in the upper bodyThe work of Cloquet is one of the earliest and most refined uses of lithography in scientific illustration — a process that allowed for delicate shading and precise anatomical detail far superior to earlier copperplate engravings.
Though the page shows natural foxing due to age, it retains a timeless visual appeal, especially when framed with a contrasting black passe-partout.
frame 520 x 720 mm
