Stoneware vessel with glazed interior

Poised between stillness and movement, this vessel-like object seems to float above its own shadow — a dark crescent balancing delicately on a single foot. The matte black body absorbs light like earth after rain, while the interior glaze of muted yellow-green reflects it back in quiet radiance. Fine crackles trace the cooling of fire, recording the alchemy of clay becoming form.
Part boat, part bowl, part memory, it carries no utilitarian purpose — only presence. Its simplicity feels timeless, its balance contemplative. In this work, the potter’s gesture becomes an act of silence: shaping emptiness into meaning, and stillness into grace.
